The Power of Faith: Wanting Nothing 0

James 1:2-10 (MSG)

Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way. If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to when you ask for it. Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought. People who “worry their prayers” are like wind-whipped waves. Don’t think you’re going to get anything from the Master that way, adrift at sea, keeping all your options open.

9-11 When down-and-outers get a break, cheer! And when the arrogant rich are brought down to size, cheer! Prosperity is as short-lived as a wildflower, so don’t ever count on it. You know that as soon as the sun rises, pouring down its scorching heat, the flower withers. Its petals wilt and, before you know it, that beautiful face is a barren stem. Well, that’s a picture of the “prosperous life.” At the very moment everyone is looking on in admiration, it fades away to nothing.

There are things that happen to us along the way of us trying to live for God. These things are what the enemy uses to attempt to distract us away from God and those things He purposes for us. So much so, that, those people that are waiting on us, assigned to us by God, will never receive the help, the word, the deliverance, needed to save their life. We cannot step aside for one moment!

Listen, we are going to go through something, folks will leave you, lie on you, say they have got your back, they have it alright, but, with a dagger in their hands. Despite this, we cannot step aside for a moment! Even, we get in the way…it takes God along time to get rid of you. Don’t let you be the hindrance, listen, God knows how much you can bare; Scripture says, He has already made a way of escape. Know that diverse temptations are coming, purpose now to not crossover, don’t get caught up in the cares of this world. It’s easy to get caught up and messed up with family, friends, or preferred choice of habit, lust, or whatever it is that gives you that warm and fuzzy vibe.

God is looking for us to stand under pressure; the more we stand, the stronger we become. Know your enemy. Be precise in what you’re dealing with. The devil uses intense precision to attempt to trip you up. Listen, you BETTER know what God is saying about you, know what He is saying to you. Listen, a righteous man’s ways ought to be pleasing to the Lord. We should know by now, because the Holy Ghost will tell us, He will warn us when we are not pleasing to the Lord.

Temptations will be there; remember the words of Jesus, “Sin lies at the door and waits.” Stop looking to others to “spline” things; the Word says to ask God for wisdom. When you ask God, you will not be in want for nothing. He will be specific and explain everything to you. He will show you how to make proper choices. He will show how to say no to foolishness, how to turn a deaf ear, how to say nothing.

We need the kind of wisdom that will reveal Satan, his tactics and schemes against you. Listen, God will deal with the “elephant in the room.” Transitions are inevitable, like change; He will remind us that we cannot order our journey (Jer. 29:11); this wisdom brings growth. We must discern properly so that we will not be lead astray.

This is about faith. God looks at the heart and knows who lives by and in faith. Every area of our lives must be governed by faith, even those areas we don’t want to surrender. We must stop rejecting the Word. Strong faith is required for this walk. We must be committed to the things of God, this is a real walk.

Unwavering faith is unwavering confidence. God does not respond to unwavering faith, now, the devil will respond; you think you are moving with God, while in actuality, you are moving with Satan. Saints, stop being deceived – look at your life – who are you moving with…get your mind in the right place. A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Listen you got to decide whether you are a Christian or not, you go to decide whether you are a Christian or not. The body of Christ should look like Christ. A single person cannot live a married life; the married person cannot be single; now, a single person can decide to marry, THEN, things must change. All the single life must be put away, whether one day or a number of years. No more instability.

Be settled. Be determined. Be committed to Christ. This will lead us to sustainability, finding ways to please and serve Him. God has given us the power of faith, wanting nothing.

Truth – The Power of Faith: Joy In Adversity 0

James 1:2-8

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

When facing adversity, this is the opportune time to praise God.  Normally when the hard times and trouble comes, the natural instinct is to tuck tail and run; we look for instant rescue.  Listen, God does not hide the fact that trouble will come for Christians, remember He has already made a way of escape.

We should really begin to place value on hardship.  How do you do that?  When you begin to compare the Word to the situation and understand, and know, God has the answer for every situation.  The Word declares, “There is nothing too hard for God.”  Now, you declare it!

Listen, you don’t have to be worried today, about anything.  Know that the devil will try you.  Be ready when you get up, confront him and tell him to bring his best shot; and while he’s moving, you get to steppin’ with God.  Your victory is sure.

Overcoming means to go up over, get this, “Go, up, over.”  This is the process of growth, the Father wants to bring you through it and out of it.

Things to do to experience joy in adversity:

Denial:  having joy in adversity is not denying the trouble, but, a getting-up, keep moving… believe what God said

Complaining:  it is appropriate to pray when going through trials; don’t complain while going…this is a great time to praise a great God!

**Listen, people need to see you moving and winning.

Self-pity:  “Poor Me syndrome”: Continue in obedience to the Lord’s commands, our obedience will cause perseverance to show up; it will be our testament.

**Learn to obey God over your own intellect, desires, etc.

**Obedience is going to get you far more than grace, why…grace is to cover your shortcoming.

Most of our trials are a result of our Christian walk; from the day we accepted Christ, all kinds of trouble came.  Why?  Because Jesus suffered, and we too, must suffer.  This walk is hard to live, and even harder without a relationship in Christ.

There is victory waiting for you.  Count it all joy, when you fall into diverse situations.  When the Enemy comes against you like a flood, the Lord lifts up a standard against him.  God wants us whole and complete, wanting nothing.

Make the decision today, to keep your joy.  Choose Christ, then follow Him.

Jeremiah 29:11-13

Jeremiah 29:10-14 MSG

[10-11] This is God ‘s Word on the subject: “As soon as Babylon’s seventy years are up and not a day before, I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. [12] “When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. [13-14] “When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. “Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.” God ‘s Decree. “I’ll turn things around for you. I’ll bring you back from all the countries into which I drove you”— God ‘s Decree—”bring you home to the place from which I sent you off into exile. You can count on it. …

We, as people, cannot decide who God will use, nor decide which direction God should lead us.  It is His plan and purpose, tailored to each person.

Listen, God will move whether we agree with Him or not.  What He desires, His purpose will be accomplished.

We all have a journey to go on, God has already positioned people, places, and things; listen, time and destiny will meet.  Nothing can thwart (defeat, stop, hinder) the move of God, nor stay His hand; His plans are never unsuccessful.

Psalm 33:10-12 MSG

[10-12] God takes the wind out of Babel pretense, he shoots down the world’s power-schemes. God ‘s plan for the world stands up, all his designs are made to last. Blessed is the country with God for God; blessed are the people he’s put in his will.

Job 42:1-2 AMP

[1] THEN JOB said to the Lord, [2] I know that You can do all things, and that no thought or purpose of Yours can be restrained or thwarted. …

The heart of God is being fulfilled from the beginning of time; we must align ourselves to His moving.  He trying to align us under the proper authority, so that we can be blessed and fulfill the divine purpose on our lives.

Prov 19:21

We humans keep brainstorming options and plans, but God ‘s purpose prevails.

Proverbs 16:9 MSG

[9] We plan the way we want to live, but only God makes us able to live it.

Hard times and hard stuff will come, this time, don’t run away, “Do the Hard Stuff;” this will bring you a greater peace. God will sustain you!

Ephesians 1:11-12 MSG

[11-12] It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.

The set time of God, is all about His timing.  Many times our set time will not  to take us where we expect.  Trust God.  Only He knows when, where, and how your set time begins.  It will not always be easy to get to, it takes the power of faith to get there.  God has to begin to weed out all the mess.

Acts 2:23 AMP

[23] This Jesus, when delivered up according to the definite and fixed purpose and settled plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and put out of the way killing Him by the hands of lawless and wicked men.

The actions of evil people can serve God’s purpose, for example, Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss.

The key to this entire message is don’t focus on the shock and pain of what happens, when those we trust most betray us; we must look at the One Who sustains us.

The Power of Faith: For Such a Time as This
Esther 4:9-(14)-17

Esther 4:9-14 AMP

[9] And Hathach came and told Esther the words of Mordecai. [10] Then Esther spoke to Hathach and gave him a message for Mordecai, saying, [11] All the king’s servants and the people of the king’s provinces know that any person, be it man or woman, who shall go into the inner court to the king without being called shall be put to death; there is but one law for him, except him to whom the king shall hold out the golden scepter, that he may live. But I have not been called to come to the king for these thirty days. [12] And they told Mordecai what Esther said. [13] Then Mordecai told them to return this answer to Esther, Do not flatter yourself that you shall escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews. [14] For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance shall arise for the Jews from elsewhere, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows but that you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this and for this very occasion?

The book of Esther reminds us of a time when things look like they are going well, then, somebody took aside and to us a truth.  At first, many of us don’t want to accept it, but, then, that truth keeps coming up.  Whether we accept that truth or not, it continues until you give attention to it.

Mordecai told Esther a truth, in her eyes she had not known anything negative about Haman (being in the palace); reality came to her, Mordecai said, look don’t think because you live in the palace, that this death sentence for all Jews will not fall on you too.  You can either do nothing or do something; remember God will save the Jews, with or without your help.
Esther was reminded where she came from; Mordecai appealed to her family loyalty.  She realized had he not taken her in, she would not be in positioned for the palace, nor the queen (which came to her by divine providence).  She then appealed to the heart of God by fasting and praying.

Right now, consider what you have done for Christ.  Consider where you are in Christ.  It’s okay that we made mistakes, it’s okay that we have made foolish choices; God is still God.

Three things to consider:

1.  Sometimes God will set or position you for the deliverance of someone else
ex. Joseph childhood dreams came true,  before that, God had to prepare  him , in today’s terms, he needed to be “made”

2. Living a selfless life esteeming others over yourself will always change the  game; ex. Jesus, Paul, David
why David, because he honored King Saul, even when he tried to kill him.

3.  We have a responsibility God , the church, and to others
-we all must make the decision to change things; God has positioned us  to change the world, change your family
What ever God has assigned you to, do it , even if you are afraid, STILL DO IT!!!  God want to use you right now!

The Law of Faith:  Have Faith in God!

Mark 11:22-23 KJV

Trusting God has to do with whether you deem Him credible.

When we place our trust in one another, we base our relationship upon how they have dealt with us in the past; their cations carry a certain weight with us,  God or bad, it is here we determine their credibility.

“No doubt”; what does this mean?  This is having an undeniable trust, faith, and belief in a person or thing.  Having faith in God is being willing to do what He asks the first time.  This is not looking or depending on man

*No doubt, it is all about what God can do.

*When you doubt, you waiver; you can’t speak words of faith and walk in unbelief at the same time

*Learning how to use time, is learning how to activate faith

*How is it that God Who can do anything is able to fail you…this is an impossible thing.

*Tremendous thank you to Rev. Dr. James Grant pastor of New Patterson Grove Faith Church in East Bend, NC!! He ministered a powerful word on “Perfecting Your Love Walk”  on Sunday, February 21.
